This program offers to go and meet multiple ethnic groups (Sherpa, Yolmo, Tamang) by visiting the traditional villlages beautiful monasteries and placed surrounded by terraced agriculture. You join the sacred lake region by a neck at 4600 m with superb views of the chain of Langtang and Ganesh Himal. You will also go on to the hill of Yangri Danda, place of pilgrimage for Buddhists from where you can see the Gauri Shankar and even a part of mt. Everest.

Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, reception at the airport by your agent and transfer to your hotel. Late afternoon guided walk through the old neighborhoods and around the former royal palace in Kathmandu

Day 2 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Tour. Starting to go to the famous stupa of Boudhanath, the largest in the world, and considered the Mecca of Tibetan Buddhism. Then, continue your visit to Patan, the ancient royal capital. This city is a veritable outdoor museum with its palaces, pagodas, monasteries, temples and shrines.

Day 3Dhunche (2000m 7hrs drive)

Early start to take a drive along the winding road with beautiful mountain views and the views of terraced fields to the starting point of our hike.

Day 4Shin Gompa (3350 m 4hrs30min walk)

The slope is steep to reach Dussagong and locality of Foprang Kopra. Lunch in an extraordinary panorama in a Swiss Chalet Lodge. Continuation of our walk in the forest that is home to red pandas before arriving Shin Gompa monastery which means wood. Also available there is cheese.

Day 5 Laurebiniak (3900 m 3hrs walk)

The day is short as it takes to acclimate. You will have time to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery that is offered to us from our stage. Extraordinary panorama of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the massive Tibetan plateau.

Day 6 Gosainkund (4350 m 3hrs walk)

Beautiful overhanging path and then along a rock wall we walk to reach the sacred lakes.Lord Shiva is believed to have created it had would have left the imprint of his feet. Thousands of pilgrims gather in August. Arrive for lunch. Stroll around the lake or be prepared to climb a small hill (100m plus) to view the 360-degree view of the landscape of high mountains and glacial lakes.

Day 7GHOPTE (3430 m 7hrs 30min) or Tharepati (3500 m 9hrs 30min walk)

Difficult day. Slow rise along with lakes and views of the mountains of the Col de Laurebinak (4600 m) there could surely be snow, and prayer flags (4600m). Steep descent up to Phedi (3600m). It is a succession of ups and downs in the forest that leads you to the Lodge of Gopte. Depending on your form, we’ll stop there in the lodge very rustic, or we may walk for 2hr is on a mountain trail to reach Russian Tharepati. Located on a ridge overlooking the valley of Rolwaling near Everest, you still enjoy an impressive panorama with Gangchenpo, Shisha Pangma, the Jugul Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Numbur.

Day 8Melemchigaon (2550 m 2hrs 30min )

Very steep descend to the village surrounded by crops Melemchi. Visit the monastery and stroll through the village with beautiful houses with flowers. Well deserved rest after the tiring walk.

Day 9 Tarkhegyang (2550 m 3hrs walk)

Steep descend to the river Melemchi before rising up through the fields and Tarkhekyang village, the main village of Helambu.

Day 10 Yangri Danda (3770 m 5hrs) -Tarkegyang

Rest and walk around the village located on the cliff Yangri Danda, a place famous for Buddhist and pilgrimage Sherpa Himalayan peaks Overnight in Lodge

Day 11Kakani (2000 m 5hrs walk)

Finally a little flat land to walk on to reach the village of Gonkiul. Beautiful day through villages, terraced fields.

Day 12 Melemchi (980 m 2hrs walk) - Kathmandu (1300 m 3hrs drive)

Rice and banana trees appear. The population changes. We are in the hotter part of the region. Transfer by private vehicle to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Free day before leaving for the airport in Kathmandu to take your return flight
